Android Q Beta 5 Rollout now Resumes for Pixel Phones

Update: Yesterday we have seen Google paused its Android Q Beta 5 rollout to the pixel devices due to installation issues faced by the users. Now Google has resumed the rollout of Android Q Beta 5 to all the Pixel smartphones from Pixel to Pixel 3a XL. This update is for testing purpose and brings updates to the gesture navigation system that includes the corner-in swipe gesture to activate the Google assistant. It also beings a new Peek behavior for back gestures.

Google announced on Reddit that it has resumed the rollout of the Android Q Beta 5 after investigating the issues which have put a small number of devices back on beta 4 after multiple reboots. The software build number for Android Q Beta 5 update is QPP5.190530.014 that also brings July Android security patch.

11/07/2019: Android Q Beta 5 OTA Update Kept on Hold Due to Installation Issues

Yesterday we have seen Google launching Android Q beta 5 and we are getting closed to the stable release. Now Google has confirmed that it has stopped the OTA update as of now because of few issues during the installation. Many users have reported about the issues with the installation of the update and mentioned that their phones are getting frozen or prompts for a factory reset their handset while installing the update.

Google also noted that they are aware of an issue with the Android Q beta 5 related to installing the update and they have temporarily paused beta 5 OTA updates to all Pixel smartphones and they are investigating the issue. Google also apologised for any inconvenience caused and will provide this post once the issue is resolved. This is not the first time Google has stopped or paused Android Q beta.

This type was issue was also faced with Android 4Q beta 4 which was paused after few Pixel 3 users have complained that their smartphones freezes during the installation or go in to the recovery mode. It is not known when the OTA update will resume again but will be happening soon. According to few sources the users can still flash their device to Android Q beta 5 of they wish to but it has to be done manually.
